It will further increase the comprehensive value and help further in increasing the bargaining power of the company vis-à-vis the Indian renewable energy landscape.
Capacity Enhancement: The proceeds from this new issue would be used for enhancing manufacturing capacities of solar photovoltaic modules and energy storage systems of Waaree Energies.
Repayment of debt: Part of the net proceeds shall also be used to pay off debt, thereby increasing the financial leverage of the company.
Other Corporate Goals: The proceeds would be used towards other corporate goals like advertisement, expansion of operations, and also for R&D
Categories of Investors
The IPO floats in the form of sNII (small non-institutional investors), bNII (big non-institutional investors) besides having some provision for retail investors .

This diversified allotment pattern provides various classes of investors with an opportunity to invest and cash in on Waaree Energies’ huge growth potential.
Major Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths:
Market Leader: Waaree Energies happens to be one of the leaders in the Indian market for solar PV module manufacturing. Of course, it also manufactures the products that are relevant in the market today because of such an important time when the renewable energy market is all gaining momentum.
Good Financials: This company’s basis of good financial position is on an increasing revenue supported by one after another emerging industry and households embracing the utilization of solar power solutions.
Government Support: Initiatives taken by the Government of India to encourage green energy, and the policies are very favorable for the support of solar energy. All these are soothing headwinds against the growth of Waaree.
Risks:
Raw Material Price Volatility: Silicon-based solar panels are volatile in nature, so any change in silicon price will be reflected in overall profit margins.
Competitive Market: The renewable energy sector is getting more competitive due to many companies entering this market, which has pushed Waaree to innovate more than others.
Regulatory Barriers: Change in state or national level energy policies or regulations many a time can act as a potential spoiler to the growth expectations of the company.
Renewable Energy Market Outlook
The Indian renewable energy sector really has taken good shape in the last couple of years, with the government actively patronizing and supporting the growth of the sector through initiatives such as National Solar Mission. The prospects really lie to be capitalized in Waaree Energies with its well-placed position in a country that is currently targeting 500 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030, while India itself has ambitiously aimed at higher targets for solar power generation and sustainability, thereby reducing carbon emissions.
The threat of climate change over the whole world has catalysed the implementation of renewable energy sources around the globe and, thus, solar power is right at the forefront of this revolution. Thus, in such a context, strategic initiatives of Waaree Energies are perfectly in line with global momentum and would continue to grow in the medium to long term.
Competitive Landscape
There has been pretty intense competition from other well-established players in the renewable energy space, namely Adani Green Energy, Tata Power Solar, and Suzlon Energy. However, this leverage is much better with the established presence of the company and vertical integration.
Diversified Portfolio: It is a diversified portfolio-from solar PV modules to energy storage systems-and it engages Waaree with a whole approach towards the renewable energy value chain.
